Ducane Burner Replacement Instructions

Ducane gas grills are one way to enjoy a family cookout. Like most gas grills, the burners have heat plates that cover them to distribute heat evenly and protect the burners from grease which results in flare-ups. The burners on Ducane grills are replaceable should one become faulty. Replacing a Ducane burner requires removing part of the front of the grill to access the complete burner. Replacement burners are available at home improvement centers and Weber dealers.

Remove Burner

  Turn off the gas grill at the propane tank. Open the grill and remove the cooking grates and the heat plates that cover the burner tubes.

  Pull off each of the control knobs on the front of the grill. Each knob pulls straight off with your fingers revealing the screws securing the knob bezels on the grill face. Remove the screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver an pull each bezel off the grill.

  Find the four screws that secure the control panel cover to the grill. The control panel cover is the grill face that the knobs connect to. There are two screws at the top and two at the bottom. Remove the screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver and pull the control panel cover off the grill.

  Remove the four screws securing the manifold to the bracket on the front of the grill with a Phillips-head screwdriver. The manifold is the metal piece running vertically across the front of burner tubes. The manifold remains loosely on the grill.

  Lift the rear of the burner tube you are replacing with your fingers and pull it toward the rear of the grill. This separates the front end of the burner from the manifold and through the grill front. Lift the burner completely out of the grill.

Replace Burner

  Insert a new burner into the grill. Position the front of the burner, the part with the insect screen, through the hole in the front and position the rear of the burner on the back rail inside the grill.

  Push the manifold back against the bracket ensuring that all of the nozzles on the manifold insert into the front of the burners. Secure the manifold to the brackets with the securing screws.

  Slide the front control panel into place and secure it with the four retaining screws. Position the knob bezels around each knob stem and secure with their respective retaining screws. Push the knobs back onto the knob stems.

  Place the heat plates over the top of the burners and put the cooking grates back into the grill.
