First Communion Table Centerpiece Ideas

  • Doves

    • Doves are very symbolic for the Catholic religion. They represent purity and peace. Additionally, doves are white, which is the color that children are required to wear for their first communion. Consider including ceramic dove figurines in the centerpiece on each table. If the party tables are very large and you are having difficulty finding a large sculpture, you can always surround the centerpiece with small stones in a color of your choice. The stones will add a burst of color that will pop next to the white doves.

    Candelabras

    • Candelabras are ideal for someone who does not want to spend too much time decorating. Candelabras can be purchased online, at local antique stores or at your local department store. The great thing about these candle-holders is their adaptability to different decor styles. Purchase centerpiece candelabras in gold, white or silver. Put white stick candles in each of the candle-holders and light them for a sophisticated look. This is an ideal centerpiece for an evening celebration.

    Flowers

    • Flowers are a classic centerpiece for a first communion celebration. Although white flowers are most traditional, pastel colors are a nice option if you want a bolder look. Purchase vases from your local craft store along with clear bead filling. Arrange the flowers after putting the beads in and then carefully fill each vase with water. The combination of beads, flowers and water will add a fantastic contemporary touch to the first communion celebration.

    Angels

    • Angel centerpieces are timeless and beautiful. Having a different angel on each of the party tables will allow your guests to quickly remember which table is theirs---plus, you'll give a unique touch to each seating arrangement. Place your angel figures on doilies that are white or cream-colored. At the end of the party, offer to give the angel figures out to guests who would like to take them as a keepsake by which to remember the celebration.
