Bloodborne Pathogens
-
Employees must be trained to avoid exposure to bloodborne pathogens so that they do not become contaminated with infectious diseases. Safety training curriculum for bloodborne pathogens should include how to clean up bodily fluid spills, how to provide first aid services and what types of personal protective equipment are appropriate when working proximal to bloodborne pathogens.
Slips, Trips and Falls
-
Employees are at risk for slipping, tripping or falling if walking/working surfaces are not kept clean, dry and free of debris. According to OSHA, the majority of general industry accidents are caused by slips, trips and falls. Train employees on the importance of cleaning up spills and leaks and keeping walkways clear.
Fire Safety
-
Fires devastate work environments and cause serious injuries, even fatalities, to employees. Train employees on how to prevent fires in the workplace by furnishing a list of prohibited items, such as lighters, personal space heaters and candles. Conduct fire evacuation drills so employees know how to safely exit the workplace.
