Gifts for a Mother's 60th Birthday

    • Mothers of any age are special, and 60 is a special milestone which should be celebrated with gifts to match American Images Inc/Photodisc/Getty Images

Mothers should never be taken for granted, and a 60th birthday is a particularly notable birthday for moms. Personalized presents celebrating your mother's life would be a thoughtful way of wishing your mother a happy 60th birthday. Though there will be a fair amount of work involved in creating a personalized present, if you involve other family members then it will make the process not only easier, but it will also be all the more enjoyable as you can share personal memories of your mother together. Try to evince happy memories rather than sad ones, when thinking of what type of present you have in mind.

    Photographs

    • Compile a collection of memories you have of your mother. Photographs can be put together in the way of a photo album, with not only old photographs, but with those photographs being enlarged. The photographs can involve family group photographs, wedding photographs, mother and children photographs, photographs of your mother as a young girl, and photographs of her with her own parents. The options are numerous, and can include photographs of family pets, and photographs of friends and other family members. Try and make sure that the selected photographs will be seen as a reminder of some happy times in her life.

    Sound and Film Memories

    • Audio and video/cine film recordings of your mother, and people who have been important in your mother's life is another way of creating a very personal present for your mother. Getting audio recordings onto a computer isn't difficult, and you could put them either on a CD or on a DVD - in the case of the latter together with the film recordings. You should be able to find places which can transfer your cine film to a DVD for you, and you can transfer video recordings to your computer with the appropriate cable. Filmed images of past pets could also be included.

    A Personalized Bouquet of Flowers

    • Make a bouquet of some of your mother's favorite flowers, and, if possible, and it is the right time of the year, select the flowers from your mother's own garden - as long as you know that she won't mind. Consult with anyone who knows about the intricacies of flower arranging to give you advice on putting the bouquet together, or find someone, preferably another family member, to assist you. Think also about flowers associated with specific events. For instance, flowers which your mother may have had in a bouquet when she was married. Or flowers your mother may have received on a special wedding anniversary.
