Heavy Duty Stapler Repair

Heavy-duty staplers are workhorses in many offices. These machines, which might be manual or electric, can staple large stacks of paper. Although normal use of the stapler and use of the correct staple size will prevent many problems, you might need to perform minor repairs on your heavy duty stapler. Most repairs can be handled on your own in just a few moments.

Unplug the stapler if it is electric.

    • 2

Press the release lever or knob to open the top of the stapler and reveal the staple loading mechanism. Carefully remove any bent or jammed staples with the needle-nose pliers or the flat-head screwdriver.

    • 3

Check that the remaining staples are the correct size for the stapler's settings, and that they are loaded correctly.

    • 4

Check that the strike plate is in the correct position and that it is flush against the base of the stapler.

Close the stapler and plug it back in. If the stapler is still not working, contact the manufacturer for support. Describe the problem and determine whether there is a repair kit you can order. If the manufacturer does not recommend a repair kit, ask for a recommendation of a professional heavy duty stapler repair company.
