Place 1 cup of roasted sunflower seeds into a food processor. Blend the seeds until they appear finely ground.
- 2
Add 2 tbsp. of canola oil and 1 tsp. salt to the food processor. Mix until the ground seeds and the oil bind together. The butter will stick to the sides of the processor bowl, so you will need to scrape the sides as you blend the ingredients.

Remove the sunflower seed butter from the food processor. Store the sunflower butter in an airtight container. Place it in the refrigerator. Stir the butter before serving because the ingredients may separate when stored.

Homemade Sunflower Seed Butter
Sunflower seed butter is used as an alternative to peanut butter. The seed butter is high in protein and low in saturated fats. The butter contains vitamins and minerals like potassium, iron and zinc. The sunflower seeds are ground in a food processor and oil is added to create a creamy texture. You can enjoy sunflower butter on sandwiches and crackers for a quick snack.
