Honda Odyssey Performance

To compete against the Dodge Caravan and Toyota Previa, Honda expanded its lineup of cars for the 1994 model year to include the Odyssey minivan. The 2011 model year marked the debut of the fourth-generation Odyssey.

Engine Output

• The 2011 Odyssey is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 motor with a 24-valve SOHC (single overhead camshaft) design and a compression ratio of 10.5-to-1. This minivan's engine produces 248 horsepower at 5,700 rpm and 250 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm.

• The Odyssey accelerates from zero to 45 mph in 5.2 seconds, zero to 60 mph in 7.9 seconds and zero to 75 mph in 11.4 seconds. This minivan runs through the quarter-mile in 15.8 seconds at 88.4 mph. Braking from 60 mph to a stop takes 129 feet.

Fuel Economy

• Honda's Odyssey is only offered with a six-speed automatic transmission. The combination of this transmission with the 3.5-liter V-6 engine yields 19 miles per gallon in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
