Hotels in Khor Fakkan, UAE

  Khorfakkan is a town on the east coast of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) along the Gulf of Oman. It was once a major deep-water port, and remains an important container terminal today. The town also is a tourist attraction because of its sandy beaches, mountain views, coral reefs and historic charm. There is one four-star hotel, the Oceanic, in town and several more in nearby Fujairah, an emirate that surrounds the town.

The Oceanic Hotel

• The Oceanic sits along a quiet strip of beach on the Gulf of Oman, a few miles from the center of Khor Fakkan and its suqs (markets). The hotel helps visitors make reservations for a number of outdoor activities including snorkeling and scuba diving, fishing, visiting a nearby oasis, and whale and shark watching. Professional instructors are on hand to teach water skiing and wind surfing. The hotel also features a full-service spa and a number of dining options including a buffet, restaurant and beach-side cafe serving drinks and light fare. Transportation is available to the town and other local attractions for a fee.

Hotel JAL Fujairah

• The JAL Fujairah is located outside of Dibba, a town less than 20 miles north of Khor Fakkan. All of the rooms in the hotel, which is a short drive from Dibba's shops and restaurants, have ocean views and offer access to the beach. Guests can choose from multiple on-site eateries serving Arabic, Japanese and Mediterranean food. A cafe serves drinks and small plates by the hotel's pool. The JAL can assist visitors who want to snorkel, dive, water ski or hop on a day cruise, and offers a full-service spa with private treatment rooms.

Hilton Fujairah Resort

• This Hilton resort is less than 20 miles south of Khor Fakkan and two miles from Fujairah City, which boasts shopping, restaurants, archaeological sites and natural wonders including mountains and caves. Two stores - Safeer Supermarket and Lulu's Department Store, sell just about everything visitors could need. The hotel has its own private beach for sunbathing, swimming and water sports and offers tennis and basketball courts and a golf course. Guests can dine at two on-site restaurants, one serving local fare and Mediterranean favorites and the other serving a range of seafood dishes. A bar serves small plates and cocktails.

Le Meridien Al Aqah

• Le Meridien Al Aqah is a luxury hotel located about 10 miles north of Khor Fakkan near the town of Dadna. Archaeological finds abound in the area, including the 400-year-old Al Bidya Mosque and Fujairah Fort. The hotel offers quick access to diving and fishing tours, as well as water sports and sunbathing. Guests can choose from on-site Thai, Italian, Indian and international cuisine or enjoy drinks at the rooftop bar that overlooks the Indian Ocean. Le Meridien's spa and fitness center offers a range of treatments and the hotel's kids club ensures that mom and dad can relax.
