How to Activate an iTouch

You can use an Apple iPod Touch device for downloading and listening to music to playing games. However, you need to activate it first. While the iPod Touch is similar in design to Apple's iPhone and uses the same operating system, activation on an iPod Touch is a much simpler process and requires no registration or downloads. Regardless of whether you have a Macintosh or PC computer--with or without Apple's iTunes application--you can easily have your new iPod Touch up and running in less than a minute.

  Plug the USB cable that came with your iTouch into the device and connect it to your computer. The "lock" screen with your battery level will appear on your iTouch screen.

  Drag the slider next to "Slide to Unlock" over from left to right on the screen.

  Tap "Dismiss" on small window that appears with the instructions on moving and deleting your applications. Your iPod Touch is now activated.
