How to Add a New Voice to a Garmin Nuvi 610

The Garmin Nuvi 610, now discontinued, features a wide touch screen, Bluetooth and traffic reporting. And, as with all Nuvi's, the 610 model comes with voice navigation to remind you when to turn or alter your route. The device also includes several voices, such as male or female with different accents. So if you grow tired or annoyed with your chosen voice, you can always change to another. Garmin even allows you to download new voices using its free computer Communicator program.

  Install the Garmin Communicator plug-in for your computer's web browser.

  Plug your Nuvi 610 into your computer using your 610's USB cord.

  Browse and select your desired voice.

  Select "Download Voice" from the voice details page.
