How to Analyze a GPX File

The GPX file format is a common geographical-location-tagging format that is almost universally supported across handheld GPS devices and mobile phones equipped with GPS receivers. Analysis of a GPX file will yield additional information about a GPX track or route such as elevation change or distance traveled. While you can purchase commercial software for GPX analysis, there are a number of Web-based tools that can accomplish all of the same tasks for free.
