How to Apply Motorcycle Graphics

Installing motorcycle graphics is a cost-effective way to change the look of your bike. A paint job can be relatively expensive, whereas graphics can be purchased at low cost in many different sizes, designs and colors to give your bike a new look. Some graphic kits are standard while others are custom-designed for specific motorcycle models. There are numerous companies online that allow you to custom design your own graphics if you have a specific design or color in mind for your motorcycle.
    • 1

Wet a paper towel or rag with isopropyl alcohol and thoroughly clean the area of your motorcycle where you are applying the graphics. Allow it to dry completely.

    • 2

Center the graphic on the area you will be applying it. Use a tape measure to measure from both sides and the top and bottom so that it will sit evenly on your bike.

    • 3

Remove the graphic from the backing paper by peeling carefully from the edge. Hold the graphic away from other surfaces so that it does not cling to anything by accident.

    • 4

Lay the graphic down in the area you have previously measured. Start with one corner and as you lay it down use a squeegee to flatten it out and remove any bubbles.

    • 5

Rub the decal into place in circular motions using your fingertips, working from the center to the edges of the graphics. Use the squeegee to remove any bubbles that may remain.
