How to Back Up a Palm Pre

When a Palm device is activated, the owner sets up a Palm profile, which is where data is stored remotely, also referred to as cloud storage. The data backed up into your Palm profile is encrypted, so only you, the account owner, can access it. It's not accessible by Palm. Your Palm profile, which includes contacts, calendar events, settings and applications, is automatically backed up every day, but you can also perform a manual backup.

  Open Backup. From the Pre's launcher, tap on the "Backup" icon.

  Back up manually. Tap "Back up now" in the bar at the bottom of the screen.

  Keep Backup toggled to "On" to continue daily backup.

  Close out of Backup. Tap the middle of the gesture area to minimize, then flick the card upward to close.

  Back up photos and videos to your computer. Connect your Palm Pre via its USB cable, then drag and drop files to your PC.
