How to Block Pop Ups & Advertisements

In the early days of the Internet, pop-up advertisements were unavoidable. Third-party utilities began appearing to help users block the unwanted and uncontrollable pop-ups. Eventually, these pop-up blockers made their way into the browsers themselves and are now a staple of any modern browser. Blocking these intrusions is simply a matter of configuring the built-in utility.

  Open Internet Explorer.

  Select "Tools," then "Pop-up Blocker."

  Select "Turn on Pop-up Blocker." Once turned on, all browser pop-up windows and unsolicited advertisements will cease.
