How to Care for Wood Paneling

Caring for your wood paneling is quite simple and takes very little time. Whether the wood is natural or synthetic, cleaning it is the same. The only exception is unstained, untreated or unsealed raw wood should only be dusted. Wash other kinds once a year, but dust both kinds all year round.
    • 1

Wipe down the wood paneling from ceiling to floor using a microfiber cloth. Suck up the dust with a vacuum.

    • 2

Pour 1/2 cup of detergent into a large bucket and fill it with a gallon of warm water. Fill a second large bucket with warm water.

    • 3

Dunk a sponge into the first bucket and wipe down the first two or three panels. Do not oversoak the panels.

    • 4

Dunk your second sponge into the second bucket. Squeeze out the water and run the sponge over the panels. Do not oversoak them.

    • 5

      Dry the panels.
