How to Change an Application Name

If you want to make your computer more customized, you can easily change the look and name of the applications on your computer. Changing the name of your applications will not affect the overall performance of the program. It simply changes the title that is displayed. You can change the name of an application directly from your computer in a few simple steps.

  Locate the application for which you want to change the name on your computer's hard drive. You can do this by clicking "Start" from the Windows task bar and selecting "Computer" from the choices in the resulting menu.

  Browse through your computer's files to locate the application for which you want to change the name. Click on the application with your mouse to highlight it.

  Right-click with your mouse and select "Rename" to type in a new name for the file or application. Alternatively, you can select the file with your mouse and press the "F2" button on your keyboard to allow for renaming of the file as well.

  Type in the name of your new file application name and press enter or click away from the icon afterwards using your mouse. This will save the new file name in place and replace the name of the application completely.
