How to Change an Archos 5 Battery

The Archos 5 Internet Tablet portable multi-media device features HD content viewing capability, multiple applications, GPS navigation and HDTV connectivity. The Archos 5 uses an internal lithium polymer battery with a playback lifespan of up to 22 hours for music and up to seven hours for video. Changing the Archos 5 Internet Tablet battery is easy.

  Turn off your Archos 5 Internet Tablet. Press and hold the "ON/OFF" button on the top of the device until it turns off.

  Turn the Archos 5 over with the back of the device facing upwards to remove the old battery.

  Press the edge of the old battery and gently slide it out of the battery socket. There should be a very slight snap when lifting the battery out.

  Place the new battery into the battery socket with the metal contacts facing downward. Gently slide the new battery into place until you feel a slight snap. Replace with original Archos batteries to avoid damage or any short-circuiting with the device.
