How to Change a Cabin Filter on a 2006 Pilot

The Honda pilot is a mid-size SUV with a six-cylinder engine. The cabin air filter cleans the air entering the Pilot. The filter is rectangular in shape and white in color. The housing that contains this filter is located inside the engine compartment behind the engine air filter. The cover on the housing has cabin filter stamped on the front of it, so you will recognize it when you see it and make the swap for a new one.

Park the Honda Pilot in a well-lit area and on level ground. Pull back on the plastic fasteners on the right and left side of the filter cover.

Pull the cover off the filter housing and place it on the top of the engine. Pull the filter from the housing. Nothing secures it to the housing, so just pull it out.

Place the new cabin filter into the housing in the same position as the old filter. Replace the cover to the housing. Press down on the plastic fasteners until they snap into place.
