How to Change From Alltel to Windstream

In 2009 Alltel decided to expand their brand to include cell phone service, home and business phone service, high-speed Internet and cable television. To be able to expand successfully, Alltel merged with Valor Communications Group. The result of the merger was Windstream Communications. Alltel users do not need to take any action to switch from Alltel to Windstream, as all Alltel clients are automatically changed. However, you can add new Windstream products by visiting their website.

  Acquire a new email address from the Windstream Communications website. Windstream will automatically generate new email addresses for all Alltel users. The email address will be the same as your Alltel address but with windstream.com on the end. For example, if your email address is jondoe@alltel.net, your new email address is jondoe@windstream.com.

  Access Safari on your cell phone. Scroll down and click on "Preferences."

  Scroll down to "Homepage" and delete "http://www.alltel.net." Replace it with "http://www.windstream.com." This will make the Windstream website your new homepage.

  Open Windstream.com on your computer. Click on "Tools" and scroll down to "Internet Options."

  In the homepage section, delete" http://alltel.net" and replace it with" http//:www.windstream.com." Click "OK" to make windstream.com your homepage.
