How to Change MPEG4 to MPEG3

MPEG4 is one of the most common formats used to store audio files. If you want to play your audio files on a portable audio player, convert them to MPEG3 so your player will recognize them. Converting MPEG4 audio files can be done easily using a free program like iTunes.

      Launch the iTunes application on your Windows or Apple computer.

      Locate and select the song you want to convert.

      Access the "Preferences" screen by selecting the "iTunes" menu, or by pressing the "command" and "comma" keys.

      Select the "Advanced" option in the "Preferences" window.

      Select "Importing," then choose "MP3 Encoder" under the "Import Using" drop-down menu.

      Close the "Preferences" window.

      Return to the "iTunes" menu and select "Advanced," then "Convert Selection to MP3."
