How to Change a Phone Battery

An unreliable or bad phone battery can be the source of hours of frustration. Changing it out may be the best solution. The process isn't straightforward and takes very little time.

  Turn off the phone.

  Open the battery cover on the back. Press down or back on the latch on the top of the battery cover and slide the cover off. Remove the old battery.

  Insert the new battery into the slot. There are metal connectors on one end of the phone. Match these connectors with the connectors on the phone. Do not force the battery in. It should fit snugly.

  Place the cover back on the phone.

  Turn the phone back on and test it. New batteries do not normally have a full charge. You should have enough juice to last an hour or two. Charge it to its fullest before taking it off charge for the first time.
