How to Change a Retrospect Client Password

Roxio's Retrospect is backup and recovery software for Apple's Macintosh and Microsoft's Windows operating systems. Retrospect protects critical data on computers by backing it up automatically, which can lessen the workload for a dedicated information technology staff. Restoring data is a vital function if your computer fails or gets damaged. If you need to change a Retrospect client password, you can do so using preference changes in the program.
  • In Macintosh OS X

      Click on "Preferences" from the Retrospect menu. Click on the "General" tab.

      Click "Change Server Password." A dialog box will open.

      Type in the old password and then type in the new password. Type in the new password once more at the prompt to confirm. Click the "Change Password" button to save the change.

    In Windows 7

      Click "Configure" from the Retrospect navigation bar and then click "Clients."

      Click the "Tools" tab. Click "Set Password."

      Type the old password in the "Old Password" box, and then type in the new password in the "New Password" box. Type in the new password once more at the prompt to confirm. Click the "Change Password" button to save the change.
