How to Check Child Support Payments in D.C.

In Washington, D.C., you can check the child support payments made on your case. Both custodial and noncustodial parents are able to review payments sent and received using an online tool made available by the attorney general's office. In addition to reviewing payments, you can update your account information, review contact information for the nearest child support office and request additional assistance regarding your case. The online tool is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Alternately, you can check child support payments by calling the Child Support Services Division in D.C. or by visiting the office in person.

  Visit the District of Columbia Office of the Attorney General's website and access the "Online Case Lookup" tool.

  Click "New User Registration" and provide the requested information. You need to provide information such as your Social Security number, child support case number and address. You also need your AVR PIN number. Ask for an AVR PIN by calling the Child Support Services Division at 202-442-9900. The number will be mailed to you.

  Log in to your online child support account using the username you created and your AVR PIN.

  Select "Payment Record" from the menu on the left. Place a check mark in the box next to the child support case for which you are seeking payment information.

  Select a payment date range from the drop-down menu and click "Submit."

  Review the child support payments that were made on the account during the date range you selected. Payment information is updated on the website nightly. Log out of the system by clicking "Logout" in the top menu when you are finished.

  Alternately, you can request information regarding payments by contacting the Child Support Services Division's customer service at 202-442-9900.
