How to Clean a Braun Coffee Carafe

The Braun coffee maker with its stainless steel carafe and trim keeps coffee hot even after you turn the machine off. The Braun coffee carafe is nice-looking and convenient, but you can easily ruin it if you don't care for it properly. Frequently cleaning it and removing mineral deposits keeps your Braun coffee carafe and maker in good condition so you can brew your coffee and keep it warm.
    • 1

Remove your cooled Braun coffee carafe from the coffee machine and fill it three-quarters of the way with warm water. Add three drops hand dishwashing liquid. Swish the liquid around with a dish scrubbing brush to make a sudsy solution, then let the carafe soak for 10 minutes to loosen stains.

    • 2

Scrub the inside of your Braun coffee carafe with the dish scrubber. Make sure to scrub the bottom, sides and under the inner rim.

    • 3

Pour the soapy water out of your coffee carafe and rinse with plain water. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 if your carafe still has a lot of coffee stains inside.

    • 4

Pour six cups white vinegar into the water reservoir area of the coffee maker. Turn on your coffee machine and allow it to run until three cups of the vinegar have brewed through the coffee maker. Shut your coffee maker off and let the vinegar sit for 10 minutes with half in the carafe and half in the reservoir.

    • 5

Brew the remaining three cups of white vinegar through the coffee maker to remove remaining coffee stains and mineral deposits.

    • 6

Empty the vinegar from your Braun coffee carafe and rinse with plain water. Run your coffee maker through two brewing cycles with water only to remove vinegar and any remaining stain particles.

    • 7

Dry your coffee carafe with a clean kitchen towel.
