How to Clean Flyer Templates

Fliers can help create a large turnout to your party by building excitement around your event. Flier designs show guests the style of the occasion and important details on how they can participate. You may find a design you like that is filled with information from a previous event or have color schemes and images that do not match your event theme. You can clean or erase the contents of the flier without compromising the overall format using your word processor templates.

Open your word processor. Search available templates to find one that matches the flier design you want. If you want to create a flier based on a design you received from someone else via email, save an electronic copy of the document by right-clicking the flier and selecting the "Save As" option. Save the flier to your computer and skip to Step 3.

Highlight the areas of your word processor template and right-click. Click the "Format" menu. Change the "Fill" color to white and the line color to "Black" so that your flier design resembles a blank coloring book page. Skip to Step 4.

Convert the downloaded flier to a word processor file in order to modify its contents. Visit a free online file-conversion website, such as Zamzar or Youconvertit (See Resources). Upload the document, select your desired output file and click "Convert." The converted document will be emailed to you. Open the document in your word processor then complete Step 2.

Save the changes to your flier so that you can use the file as a template for future events. When you are ready to begin your flier design, you can add colors images and text using the black outlines of the document as a guide.
