How to Compare Lasko Heaters

Lasko is a company that sells a variety of portable space heaters. These heaters are generally used to supplement your whole house heating system. By turning on a space heater to warm up a small, pinpointed area of your home, you can leave the thermostat turned down and save money on your home energy costs.

Figure out where you plan to use the Lasko heater in your home. Most models are designed for indoor use. However, the Lasko utility heaters are designed for use in your garage or other outdoor space. A high-traffic room would benefit from a Lasko heater designed to heat a larger area. Other Lasko heaters can heat a small space, such as the space around your favorite armchair as you sit and read a book.

Check out the different styles of Lasko heaters available. The style you choose may depend on what you want to heat. For example, low-profile convection heaters sit close to the floor, while ceramic tower heaters and ceramic pedestal heaters rise up off the ground, heating the entire room. You can view the various options on the Lasko website (see Resources).

Research the difference between Lasko heaters that include a fan and those that don't. The fan blows hot air throughout a room at a greater speed, meaning you can warm up a larger space more quickly. However, they do come with noise. Lasko heaters without a fan don't make a sound.

Pay attention to how tall the Lasko heaters you're comparing are. Some of them are made to heat the base of the room, allowing the heat to rise naturally. Others sit at chair level so that you can be instantly warmed. The tower and room heater models are designed to be placed in a corner of the room and heat a larger area.
