How to Connect Shuffle to a Car Stereo

Connect your iPod Shuffle to your car stereo to play the songs stored on the iPod through your car's speakers. The 3.5-mm stereo headphone jack on the Shuffle enables you to connect the iPod to a number of different audio equipment. You must have a car stereo with a cassette player or an AUX input to make the connection since the Shuffle does not have any outputs.

Casette-to-Portable Adapter

  Turn on your car and eject any tapes currently in the stereo.

  Insert the cassette-to-portable adapter into your car's tape deck.

  Connect the cable from the adapter to the headphone jack on the Shuffle. Turn on the Shuffle and press "Play."

  Select the "Tape" input on your car's stereo to play the Shuffle through your car's speakers.

With Headphone Connector Cable

  Plug one end of the 3.5-mm headphone connector cable into the "AUX" input on your car's stereo.
