How to Copy and Paste ISOs

A file in the ISO format is an electronic image of an actual CD. The purpose of making an ISO is to back up the original or to be able to use the virtual copy without having the original on hand. If you want to make an additional copy of an ISO file in order to transfer it to another computer while still holding on the original file, you can do so using native controls in Windows. The term ISO stands for International Organization for Standardization, which ensures a common standard for software vendors.

      Right-click on your ISO file. A drop-down menu appears.

      Select "Copy" from the menu.

      Right-click on an empty space in the folder where you want the new copy to go. Select "Paste" from the options that appear. Right-click on the new copy and select "Rename." Type in a new name for the copy so you don't confuse it with the original. Click off the copy to finish the renaming process.
