How to Customize the Windows Mobile Taskbar

Originally developed by Microsoft for use on Pocket PCs, the Windows Mobile operating system has since been adapted for use on Windows Mobile phones and other portable devices. Although the latest line of Windows-based phones have moved on to its successor, Windows Phone 7, many devices operating on the Mobile OS remain in use. The program itself, as one streamlined for use on devices with limited memory, offers little in customization. However, third-party developers have created add-ons and components to fill the gap in Microsoft's options.

Install the component or taskbar to the device. Typically this is done by running the ".cab" file.

Reboot the device. This may have to be done manually or automatically by the ".cab" file. The component or taskbar should be installed and usable on the device.
