Measure the surface of the particle core board using a straight ruler. Using a pencil, mark your measurements on the particle board. Also, measure the area of the floor or paneling where you want the board to be placed. A precise measurement is essential for an accurately-sized cut.

Place the laminated particle board atop the work table, near your power saw. Align the blade of the saw onto the marks you made on the particle board; use these marks as your guide.

Don safety glasses to avoid small wood particles getting into your eye. Turn on the power saw and use the hand not holding the saw to guide the board through the blade. Be sure to firmly align the board under the saw, then slowly push the board under the rotating blades.
