How to Do Bodywraps

Body wraps provide cosmetic and therapeutic benefits; they cleanse the body of toxins. If you want to improve, tighten and tone your skin, a body wrap may be for you. These wraps can tighten loose skin caused by pregnancy or weight loss. If you are experiencing inflammation, body wraps can be helpful for that, as well. Body wraps are typically done at health spas, but you can do a body wrap yourself in the comfort of your home.

Boil 2 cups of water in a pot with 1/4 cup of sea salt. Use a spoon to stir the salt into the boiling water. Wait until the sea salt dissolves, continually stirring until the salt disappears. It may take a few minutes for the salt to dissolve into the water.

Add 1 cup of clay and 2 tbsp. of olive oil into the sea salt mixture slowly. Continue to stir until the mixture becomes a paste.

Rub the paste on your body once cooled, especially on the areas that need extra care. Make sure you completely cover the areas with the mixture. Continue by covering yourself with a couple of thin towels. You can also use wrapping sheets that normally go over the towels. Inquire with your local health spa about wrapping sheets. They can recommend a specific brand.

Lie down for 45 minutes to one hour. You can lie in the tub to prevent mess from the clay mixture. When the time is up, wash the clay mixture off of your body.
