How to Do Live Radio in an mIRC Channel Room

Internet radio is a popular tool these days. Whereas standard radio requires the use of all sorts of specialized and expensive equipment and requires the rental of a radio frequency, Internet radio can be set up easily and cheaply. Internet radio can be set to broadcast, albeit indirectly, into an mIRC channel.
    • 1

    • 3

    • 4

Download, extract and install AMIP configurator.

    • 5

      Open WinAmp.

    • 6

Press Ctrl+P to open Winamp's preferences window.

    • 7

Navigate to "DSP/Effect" on the left side of the preferences window. Double-click on "Nullsoft Shoutcast."

    • 8

Click on "Input" and select "Soundcard" as your input device.

    • 9

Click on "Output." Type your radio station's URL in the "Address" field. Enter a password if you so desire. Close the Shoutcast Source Window.

    • 10

Open AMIP Configurator from your desktop or "Start" menu.

    • 11

Enter "IRC Integration" and check "Announce Immediately."

    • 12

Enter "Presets." At the end of the string on Preset 1, add the URL of your radio station. This will make it such that each announcement includes your radio URL.

    • 13

Enter "Channels." If you only want to advertise to particular channels rather than every channel, enter the specific channels.

    • 14

      Close the configurator.

    • 15

Open WinAmp and begin playing music. Whenever a new song begins, AMIP will automatically make your mIRC advertise the music you're playing and the URL of the radio station itself.
