Purchase a cordless telephone for home use. Cordless telephones allow you to move throughout your home without a cord. With the current technology, your cordless telephone can even receive a signal from your yard. The cordless telephone requires a charged battery to operate effectively.

Use the Skype service and a microphone. Skype is a phone service that connects a microphone to a computer and allows you to communicate globally by inputting a phone number into your computer. With Skype, if you use a webcam, you can also actually see the person that you are speaking to in real time.
