How to Enter Coordinates Into a Garmin Legend

The Garmin eTrex Legend is a handheld GPS device that features a complete base map of North and South America, as well as the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. Using these base maps, pedestrians, hikers and boaters can navigate through forests, rivers, coastlines, highways and city streets. If you know the geographical coordinates of the location you wish to travel to, they can be entered manually by accessing the device's Mark Waypoint Page.

  Power on the eTrex Legend, and press down the thumb stick. Hold it down until the Mark Waypoint Page appears.

  Use the thumb stick to highlight the location field, then hold the thumb stick down to enable the on-screen keyboard.

  Enter the coordinates you want to use with the on-screen keyboard. Give the waypoint a name or symbol, if desired, then press "OK."
