How to Find Out How Big My Screen Resolution Is

The screen resolution on a display is limited by how many pixels are in each square inch of the screen. The more pixels there are, the higher the resolution can be. Default resolution settings are usually set under the maximum resolution. The method of finding the maximum resolution settings depends on what system you are using.
  • Windows-operated Display

    • 1

Move the cursor over an open area on the desktop and right-click the screen. Select "Properties" on the menu that opens.

    • 2

Select the "Settings" tab in the "Properties" window.

    • 3

Locate the screen resolution slide box in the bottom left portion of the window. The resolution listed in the box is the computer's current resolution setting.

Drag the slider to the maximum resolution setting. The resolution reading in the box is the maximum resolution of the display.
