How to Fix an Automation Error

An automation error is a runtime error that occurs on your system when you have software packages that are out of date. The best way to get your system back up and running is to perform a Windows Update. Windows Update software is free and will update the software causing the runtime error, and it takes very little effort to perform the update.

  Click the Windows logo in the bottom left corner of the screen, then click on the "All Programs" button.

  Select the "Windows Update" icon from the list of programs.

  Choose "Check for updates" on the left side of the screen.

  Click "Install Updates" at the bottom of the screen.

  Restart your computer when you are prompted to do so.
