How to Get a Florida CDL Class B Learner's Permit

A Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) allows drivers to operate trucks weighing more than 26,001 pounds of gross weight. To get a CDL learner's permit in Florida, you first need a regular Florida driver's license. Then you need to apply for a CDL learner's permit and get medical certification that you are fit enough to drive a commercial truck. You then have six months to apply for and receive your full Class B CDL.
