How to Glue Plastic Labels to Metal

You can find a large variety of glue at any hardware or hobby supply store, categorized by the material they are used to bond. However, if you are looking for glue that works on more than one material, you have to be more selective. Many kinds of glue that work well on plastic do not work on metal, and even those glues that do work may not adhere after a few days. Epoxy is one glue that will bond plastic and metal strongly and last for a long time.

  Open the epoxy resin and squeeze a small amount on the back of the plastic label.

  Open the epoxy hardener and squeeze the necessary amount onto the epoxy resin and mix. Consult the epoxy instructions for the mixture ratio of resin and hardener. The ratio doesn't have to be exact, but the more hardener you add to the mixture, the faster the epoxy will dry. Quickly spread the mixture over the back of the label so it completely coats the label.

  Place the label onto the metal. If the label is heavy, place tape over the label to hold it to the metal while the epoxy finishes drying. Leave the tape on until it is fully dried.
