Buy a good quality hole punch. Cheaper hole punches will not be able to pierce the transparencies. Expect to pay in the region of $15 to $20 for a decent hole punch.
- 2
Slide the transparencies into the slot at the front of your hole punch. Do not try and punch holes in more than a few transparencies at once. Make sure the sides of the transparencies you intend to pierce are flush with the ridged edge at the back of the hole punch.

Press down on the top of the hole punch. You should not need to use excess force to pierce the transparencies. If you cannot punch the holes, remove a few sheets and try again.

How to Hole Punch Transparencies
Transparencies are used for a large variety of tasks. The translucent sheets can be used for printing images and text in the same way as paper, but, as they are less opaque than paper, can be used in overhead projectors. Teachers, children and office staff all have cause to use transparencies. The best way to keep transparencies clean is by hole punching the sheets and filing them away in folders.
