  Download a free copy of Download Accelerator Plus, install the program and then start it.

  Click on the "Tools" heading at the top of the program, and then click on the "Options" heading in the drop-drown menu that appears below the Tools heading.

  Click on the "Connection" option in the list-menu on the left side of the "Options" menu.

  Specify your connection type. Select the type of connection you're on, using the menu box labeled "Connection Type/Speed."

  Increase Download Accelerator Plus's acceleration mode. Select a higher acceleration profile from the menu box labeled "Acceleration Mode."

  Return to the program's main menu. Ensure the "Acceleration On/Off" button, located at the top of the program, is set to "Acceleration On."
