How to Install a Bed Liner on a Chevy Silverado Pickup

As of 2010, the Chevy Silverado pickup has been in production since the 1990s and is renowned for its hauling capability. Installing a bed liner in the Silverado's bed yourself, an aftermarket option that the dealer will usually charge for, may help you save some money as well as save the bed from unnecessary scratching when hauling materials.

Open the tailgate on the Silverado pickup. If need be, clean any debris from the bed with a broom or hose. Allow the bed to fully dry if you used water. Pick up one side of the liner and have a friend pick up the other side. Walk it to the truck. Resist the temptation to slide it into the bed, as this may result in scratching the paint.

Hoist the bed liner over head. Stand on one side of the pickup near the back tire while your friend stands on the other side, opposite to where you're standing. Gently lower the liner into place in bed. Don't drop it into the bed for the same reason you didn't attempt to slide it in.

Lay the tailgate of the liner out across the open tailgate of the pickup. Line up the screw holes on both pieces and use a Phillips-head screwdriver to screw the bed's liner gate onto the truck bed. You may have to have your friend press down on the liner gate to get it to line up properly. Close the Silverado's tailgate once completed.
