How to Install a Card Holder in Antec 900 PCI-E

PCI Express cards are physically longer than standard PCI cards. The Antec 900 gaming case supports PCI-E motherboards; however, Antec recommends that anyone installing a full-length PCI Express card also install an add-in card holder. The bracket supports and stabilizes the card to prevent damage. It attaches to the video card on one side and then secures to a stable location inside the computer. The bracket is not included with the Antec 900 case and must be purchased separately.
  • Installing the Card Holder

    • 1

Shut down the computer and disconnect all cables and devices. Of course, if you are building a new computer, this step does not apply.

    • 2

Position the case so that the rear panel is facing you.

    • 3

Remove the thumbscrews from the rear of the side panel on your right and slide the panel back towards yourself to open it.

    • 4

Ground yourself against static electricity, which can damage the internal hardware in your computer, by putting on an anti-static wrist strap before you touch any of the components inside the case.

    • 5

Twist the bracket onto the PCI-E card while the card is installed in the computer.

    • 6

Attach the bracket to the drive bay with two screws provided with the bracket.

    • 7

Replace the side panel and reinstall the thumbscrews.

    • 8

Reconnect all cables and external devices and restart the computer.
