Safety Belt and No Base

Place the car seat in a rear-facing position in one of the rear seats in your vehicle.

Thread the vehicle's seat belt over the car seat and under both belt hooks on either side of the car seat.

Buckle the seat belt.

Push down firmly on the car seat using your hand or knee while tightening the vehicle's seat belt. Instructions on how to tighten the belt should be found in your automobile owner's manual.
Base with a Safety Belt

Place the base in a rear-facing position in one of the rear seats in your vehicle.

Open the lock-off at the center of the car seat's base.

Thread the vehicle's seat belt through the marked belt path, ensuring that it goes directly over the lock-off.

Push down on the base with your hand or knee while tightening the seat belt.

Close the lock-off over the seat belt. If you're using a lap belt, make sure that the loose end of the lap belt is under the lock-off. Make sure the lock-off is tightly closed.

Attempt to move the base to ensure that it is securely attached. If the belt loosens or lengthens, repeat Steps 1 through 5.

Place the car seat on the base in a rear-facing position, and snap it into place. You will hear a click when it engages with the base. Pull up on the car seat to make sure it is securely attached.
Base with LATCH

Remove the LATCH strap from the storage bars on the base and extend it to its maximum length.

Place the base in a rear-facing position in a rear seat in your vehicle.

Ensure that the LATCH strap is routed properly through the belt path on the base and that it is not twisted.

Hook the LATCH connectors to the anchors in the seat of your vehicle. Pull on them to make sure they are attached.

Push down firmly on the base with your hand or knee while pulling the LATCH adjustment belt to tighten.
