Remove all packing tapes that cover some parts of the printer hardware. If you just purchased the printer, inspect the contents of the box for hardware parts that you still need to attach. If the control panel overlay is not yet attached, align it at the top of the device and press it down to secure it in place.

Place the two-sided duplexer at the back of the printer until it snaps into place. Remove the "output tray," slide the "paper width guide" and insert a paper into the feeder to adjust the length. Put back the "output tray" and open out the "tray extender."

Plug the phone cord that comes with the printer from the phone port of the device while connecting the other end into the wall jack. Connect the power cord from the power port of your HP 7410 into a working power outlet.

Turn on the printer and wait until the green light on the power button becomes solid. Lift the access door and place the ink cartridges into their respective ink carriages. Place the tricolor cartridge into the carriage with a green cover and place the black cartridge into the one with a black cover. Press the cartridge down until it snaps into place. Close the access door.

Install the printer to the computer. Insert the printer installation CD into the CD or DVD drive, follow the installation instructions and restart the computer.

The HP Officejet 7410 is an all-in-one printer that can be used for several tasks such as printing, copying, scanning and faxing files. Using the installation CD that comes with the printer, you have to install the device to the computer before starting to print documents. The installation CD contains the software that the printer needs in order to establish a connection with the computer.
