Turn on your computer running Windows Media Center. Turn on your Xbox 360 and connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the back of your Xbox 360 console.

Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to an Ethernet port on your computer. You're computer will automatically recognize that then connection has been placed.

Open the Windows Media Center application on your computer and the "Welcome to Windows Media Center Extender Setup" screen. Click the "Next" button.

Return to your Xbox 360 and use your controller to select the "My Xbox" option. Select the "Windows Media Center" option and then an 8-digit key will be presented. Write down this number.

Enter the 8-digit key on the "Enter the Setup Key" screen of the Extender Setup on your computer. Click the "Next" button.

Click the firewall settings you want to use and then click the "Next" button. Click the "Finish" button and then Windows Media Extender will be installed.

How to Install Media Center Extender
The Windows Media Center Extender is an application that connects with an Xbox 360 video game console so that you can view video content from your computer on your television. In order to install the Media Center Extender, you must have the Windows Media Center application installed on your computer and the Xbox 360 must be connected to your computer. Once the program is installed, you can select any content stored on your Windows Media Center with your Xbox 360.
