How to Load the TomTom 720 SDRAM

The TomTom GO 720 stores its default maps on an internal memory, so it does not require any external memory. If users find that they want to add extra maps or photos, however, they may need to use an SD memory card with the device. An SD memory card adds RAM, or random access memory, to the TomTom GO 720. An SD memory card can be loaded in just a few moments.

Locate the SD memory card slot on the underside of your TomTom GO 720 device. It is the long narrow opening on the right side of the unit.

Remove the blank plastic insert from the memory card slot. Save it if you plan on removing the SD card in the future, as the plastic insert protects the card reader inside the slot.

Insert your SD memory card with the metal chip facing the bottom of the slot. Make sure the card is inserted all the way into the slot--you will hear a light click when it is secured in place.
