How to Locate a Cell With a GPS

Losing a cell phone can make you feel like time has stopped. There are so many uses for cell phones now that people use them to do more than just talk to others. Cell phones are used as address books, calculators, cameras and navigation devices. With cell phones having so many uses, it is important to know where yours is at all times. If your phone has been misplaced, you can locate it using a GPS program.

      Choose a GPS program that suits your needs and is compatible with your phone. Instamapper is a GPS program that is used for GPS tracking.

      Register for the chosen GPS service and follow the instructions to create an account. You will need to create a user name and password.

      Follow through with the registration until you are prompted to download the program to your phone. Restart your phone once installed.

      Go to the GPS website on your computer. Sign in with the user name and password you created. Look for the red flashing dot on the map that is labeled with your user name. This red dot represents the cell phone.

      Follow the location of the blinking red dot to retrieve the cell phone.
