- 1
Heat milk in saucepan until it is hot. Do not boil.
- 2
Add white candy coating and stir until it is completely dissolved. This recipe asks for only 4 oz., or about 1/4 bag, because of the caloric content of the candy. You can increase the candy content to increase the vanilla flavor.
- 3
Add food coloring according to the season or holiday as desired. For Halloween, you might use green, orange or yellow. For Christmas, add red or green. For Valentine's Day, add red.
- 4
Remove vanilla mixture from heat. Mixture will be too hot to drink immediately. Let cool for five minutes.
- 5
Serve hot vanilla by scooping into coffee cups or mugs with a one-cup measuring cup. Makes five to six servings.
- 6
Top with marshmallows or whipped cream.

How to Make a Hot Vanilla Drink (Like Hot Chocolate)
