How to Make a Profile for a Paintball Team

Paintball is a fun sport that many people enjoy playing on the weekends. This sport uses air-powered guns with small balls of colored paint. When you establish a team, you can create a website that tells fans and others who may be interested all about your team and its players. Making sure the information is up to date is important to building a fan base. This can also help any media coverage you may receive during your league play.

Choose a name for your team. Using an Internet database search feature, type in a web domain name you will want to represent your team on the Internet. Once you have chosen a name that is available for purchase, use a hosting company or domain re-seller to buy the domain. You can buy from directNIC, Go Daddy or HostGator.

Find a company to host your new domain. HostGator offers various packages starting from $4.95 a month. Choose a company that sells website templates like RocketTheme or Template Monster. Purchase the template you want to use and load it onto the server of the hosting company you have chosen to work with.

Create the list of information you want displayed about your team. Include the location such as the address, city, state and ZIP code. Be sure to list your phone number and email address. On the team website, place this information where it can be easily found by those interested in joining the team or supporting it at its games. You will want to add the team colors or uniforms on the section.

Create the website based on the information you have gathered. Create the navigation menu first, then the subsections under each main header so you will know where to place all the information. For example, if you create a header called "About Us," this is where you will list an overview of your team, the owners of the team and a time line of your team's history. Do this for each section you will have on the site. Make sure the proper information about the team goes under the right subsections. You should include the basic headers such as "Home," "Players," "Tickets" and "Merchandise." Ask the players on the team for all of their pertinent information. You will want to list each person's name, height, weight and position, and you should include a photo. The profile for each player should include place of birth, date of birth and number of years experience playing the game. You can also list the player's strengths and weaknesses.

Add any audio or video files about the team. If you have been on TV or radio or in the newspaper, you will want to create a media section for those articles. You can spruce up the team's image by making sure the information on the site is always kept current. List the team's season schedule with dates, times and location. Add to the site where people can buy tickets and merchandise, and also list any functions you may hold to raise money for support.

Add text features describing the photos or videos you have placed on the site. This will let the readers know what they are looking at or viewing. Always use a font selection that is easy to read and does not make the page look strange.

    • 7

Look over the website to make sure you are pleased with how it looks. Look for the feature button on the template that says "Publish" and click it. This will push your website up for the entire world to view. You should set up a time schedule for when all the updates are made or as needed. It is always best to keep as much fresh content on the site as possible, as this will entice readers to come back and help you with the search engine placements and rankings.
