How to Make QuickTime the Default for MP3s

QuickTime is a video player developed by Apple Inc. that ships pre-installed on every new Mac. While QuickTime is designed as a video player, it is possible to use it to open other types of files, including MP3 audio files. While other Apple software such as iTunes is arguably better for playing audio files, Mac users who wish to edit the mp3 files using QuickTime tools may want an easier way to ensure that all audio files open automatically in their desired application.
